TV to PC Cable Connection Help.

    Hi, i have a Flat Screen TV connected to my PC but the cable is quite short.
    I want to move the PC base unit to the other side of the desk but the cable is too short.

    What type of lead or cable would i need to buy that would enable me to do this.

    The Graphics Card is a ATI AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series (Sapphire/PCPartner)
    it also has HDMI Sockets as does the TV.

    The TV has a standard connector which fits into a adapter on on the lead to the Graphics Card as it has a Male connection.

    I was told that if i just use the HDMI cable i would need Audio leads as well since the Sound Card is not HDMI.

    I don't think that is correct.
    HDMI carries video and audio. Forget the sound card. Your motherboard probably has a sound chip to use before you added a sound card.

    Connect both with a simple HDMI cable. Enable HDMI audio to send the audio to the TV; set it as the standard playback device in control panel / sound .

    VGA is old technology. I would not select the cable you've linked to over HDMI. VGA is video only then you need separate cable for audio.

    IMHO, the fewer the wires, the better.

    I had a look today on my PC to make sure it could take HDMI. It can as i thought so i got a cable today and the problem is now solved.
