Tweaked to Death!

Hey, maybe someone can give me a hand. I was tweaking my services using the Black Viper page. Which I've done before and never hand any problems with. Now when I open Microsoft Word I get the message: "This document could not be registered. It will not be possible to create links from other documents to this document. and then it says (Crogram Files\...\STARTUP\PALMAPP.DOT). Now I have no idea what this means and I don't think it matters but the message always popping up is a pain in the ass. Anyone know which service this involves and what I need to do to fix it??? Thanks for any help you can give.

 

It's the Protected Storage Service I think. Should be set to automatic.

Hey thanks for that. I did check that and that service is running and that doesn't seem to be the cause. Any other suggestions?

 

Check and make sure the DCOM service is running.

1. Click Start > Run and type Services.msc

2. Double-click DCOM Server Process Launcher

3. Set its startup type to Automatic

4. Restart.
