Thanks, I'm going to check on the KVM switch, it will give me more room on my desk and simplify matters. Both computers are on XP and one is primarily for doing digital photo and film reproduction, will this make any difference?

Outstanding! This is what I was looking for, a friend of mine has that on his two computers. I will do this tonight after work, thank's, I'm really jazzed about this.

If you want sound, look for a KVM switch that also has multimedia, otherwise one computer will have sound and the other will not unless you install a 2nd set of speakers.
I've used a KVM switch with multimedia for several years.

I hadn't thought of that, I checked with a friend of mine and he says a KVM switch is preferable over software due to less chances of problems. I'm trying the software to see how it works but I'm keeping the KVM switch on the backburner option. Thanks

I'm not sure I understand you. What software allows you to control two computers with one mouse and one keyboard?

If you have multiple monitors and a network, this software will do it. http://www.majorgeeks.com/Synergy_d5179.html

Forgot about sound, that does not work, but speakers are cheap.

Synergy, follow the thread on this and you'll see it. It works but it conflicts with the work I do on one of the computers which is primarily media work. Fred G responded with the the site on Major Geeks.com

Thanks guys for furthering my education. I did not know about that program, synergy. I had no idea software could do that. It wouldn't work for me because I have one monitor so I've always used KVM switches. First the very old style where you had to move the switch between A and B then the modern kind with the cables attached where it is just a quick double-tap of the scroll lock key to switch between computers.

Synergy is a neat little program. I also have used the KVM switches, the A,B,C,D type and the ones that switch via the keyboard. Dang technology suprises me at times. So much new stuff...
