In Windows 10 I put a checkmark next to Hidden in the properties of a folder I just created.

When I used my file manager to see what I'd done, why did I still see the hidden folder?

And if the folder was indeed hidden, how would I open it if I can't see its name?

I found out why I still see my hidden folder - I had "Show hidden files and folders" enabled.

Is there a way to hide just one folder?

And again, if there is a way to do this, how do I select the one hidden folder if I cannot see it???

Open the folder Properties and tick Hidden in Attributes

Yes, I understand that part, and thank you for your reply. But then I have to choose "Hide hidden files and folders". I can either see all hidden files or I can hide all hidden files. I want to see all files except the ones that I mark as "hidden".

Hide the folder as system hidden, that way you'd have to unhide protected operating system files to see it, or run the command to unhide it.
    Code:
    Run command prompt or powershell
    to hide:
    attrib +s +h "Path to folder" /s /d

    to unhide:
    attrib -s -h "Path to folder" /s /d
