You have a couple of options: you can simply modify your boot.ini file to only show the first WinXP install but the second install will still be there taking up space, you just won't be using it -OR- you can remove the second WinXP installation. I've provided some links below that will (hopefully) help you out. The first and third links are about the boot.ini file and how edit it. The second link explains how to remove the second WinXP installation... GOOD LUCK!!!!

If I'm reading this correctly, you added a second HD and installed XP on it. So now you have two HD's and two versions of XP. It looks to me that you are starting the XP on the new HD by default (making no choice and letting it time out). If this is the case then when making no choice you should be in an XP version that has few extra programs added. Is this what happens?

Could it be possible that you installed a 2nd Windows on another partition on the same drive ? I have 2 Windows on 2 separate (physical) HD and boot choice is provided by bios settings (IDE 0 or IDE 1), nothing to do with boot.ini file

Chances are that your original WinXP is on the 1st partition. Make a copy of the boot.ini as it is now and rename it to boot1.ini or something. Then edit the boot.ini to load only the 1st WinXP. If it messes up, you can always go into recovery console and rename boot1.ini back to boot.ini. If you checked the links I posted above, you should have a fairly good idea of what boot.ini does and how to modify it.....
