Hi everyone, ''woe is me'' I had trouble with XP a while ago so's I did a ''Repair'' which I thought deleted the old and reinstalled a new, not to be I now have two XP's installed, I discovered this on boot up where 2 XP progs were showing asking me which one to boot from, I'd not taken any notice of it before as all was running OK but this morning I was unable to boot past starting XP but have now corrected with a sys restore.. How do I rid myself of one and be able to keep the other, preferably the original and will it require a boot disk with FDisk as my self made floppy boot disk does not have FDisk on it.

    AMD Athlon 2000+
    Asrock K7VM2
    512 DDR
    2 X 60 GIG HDD
    DVD/CD
    CD RW
    XP Pro OS

PS. I have for the past 3 days been having a continual attack/trying to enter my com. from ''Time Warner'' this occurs every 2 minutes, literally. I have them blocked but it is not doing my CPU any good as it keeps running at 100% whilst the blocking is taking place. Are they legally allowed to hassle me in this way?? and do I have redress if they blow my chip.??

I dunno what's up with the Time Warner, but I had the same problem with it in El Paso, TX. I fought with it for months, blocking it with ZoneAlarm. Once blocked it appeared to give up.

Although I didn't discuss it with TechSpt, my other conversations with them led me to believe that it was taking system info from me. I got this impression from the times that I called and they were able to tell me what was wrong with my cable modem.

I left El Paso about 3 months ago, so I can't give any "real time" feedback.

    Good luck!

They will be spoofing their IP, if this is what your meaning, so its not going to be timewarner really .

So do both boot up alright? did you mean a enw partition when doing the repair/install?

If so, you could use a partition manger like ranish to blank it and expand the original
