I use Firefox as my browser. When I click on it to open the Internet, nothing happens. After about 10 minutes 2 different error boxes pop up.

    "TYPEERROR:COMPONENTS.CLASSES[CID] IS UNDEFINED"

"INITIATION OF BIT DEFENDER QUICKSCAN FAILED,PLEASE REINSTALL EXTENSION"

After I close both of these boxes, then Firefox starts to work and my home page appears.

Also, once I am able to use the internet and I go into my Bank's website. I go to download my latest statement which is a PDF. WHen I click on the link to download, it takes another 10 minutes, then the same 2 error boxes pop up again, and once I close them, then the PDF shows up.

I do not want BitDefender on my computer. I do not know how it got there. I cannot find it in my Programs. I have tried to uninstall it using Uninstall Links I have found on the internet. It says it deletes the program, but in the bottom right corner of Firefox, the BitDefender icon is still there. When I move my mouse to the icon it says "BitDefender QuickScan (corrupt-please reinstall)".

I am not sure if BitDefender is the cause for all of this, but I thought I would share everything that I am seeing.

    I would appreciate any help.

    Thank you.

    Hello,
This may be a firefox add-on. In firefox, click Tools>Add-ons then click Extensions on the tool-bar. See if Quick-scan is one of your extensions. Then, click the uninstall button.

Click on Start, then run and in that box type
    Code:
    msconfig
Click the startup tab and see if anything related to BitDefender is checked. That's how the tray icon appears near the clock. Something is trying to run and since you have uninstalled BitDefender, it is creating a problem.

If that works, once you reboot and the icon is gone, there is a much better way to fix this than through msconfig. I use that as a quick way to troubleshoot.

Post back what happened and we'll find a better solution.
