(not sure if this is the right board, but it seems feasible that it might be malware)

Hello... been having this problem for a little over a week...

I will be sitting here minding my own business when my typing cursor will just up and go away... which means my typing STOPS where I was when the cursor went away...
When this happens I have to manually click on the spot again to start typing again... it does it every 5-10 seconds at least when I am typing into a text/chat box.

It seems to be something is stealing the cursor's focus away from the active window, but my window title bar never changes color (like it does when you click outside of an open window)

I have tried using TweakUI and setting it so the focus cant be stolen from the active window, but it still happens...
Also... my mouse cursor never moves from the spot I leave it at.

It has happened about 15 times since I started typing this post...

Any clue what the problem could be?

Do you have a standard wired keyboard or is it wireless?

Are you sure you do not have any keyboard hardware problems?

The only way we can truly rule out malware is by having you follow ALL the steps below.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis
    .

    I have a wired ps/2 keyboard.

I forgot to mention one thing though... about two weeks ago I moved my USB infrared mouse from direct plug-in to the case... to a powered USB Hub, so I am wondering if that might be the problem. But I am going to run some of the programs in that thread to see what I can come up with.

    Thanks.

Not sure! That would be a question for the Hardware Forum

Some??? It's up to you what you decide you want to do but do not post a HijackThis log without completing ALL steps.
