Uaa Bus Driver/soundmax/thinkpad T61

I also have a T61 Lenovo ThinkPad. Every 2 or 3 boots and I loose my soundmax drivers. Then I have to uninstall, reinstall and it's good for another couple of boots. Very frustrating. I'm getting the driver right from the Lenovoa site:7ka117ww at http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds002306

Still no good, anyone with any idea. This seems to be an ongoing problem with this model and Lenovo support is almost clueless.

Hi my friend , firstly you could uninstall audio drivers completely using this

afterwards you could try a clean installation of the audio drivers , even you can try these steps

If this is on a laptop running XP, I found a solution from 8 years ago.

I had to delete the following key from the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP3\KB888111
Then I rebooted. After rebooting, I reinstalled the KB888111 patch from the Lenovo site, then rebooted again.
After that reboot, it found the sound card and wanted to install the drivers, which I did from c:\DRIVERS\WIN\Audio. Once again, I rebooted.
After that reboot, I installed the SoundMax software and rebooted again, and when I logged back into Windows, I heard the familiar Windows startup theme.
I guess a word to the wise is to be very careful what you are installing when using the ThinkVantage System Update.

but not knowing your OS, I went no further.
The UUA driver must be installed before the SoundMax driver; I'm sure you probably are aware of this from installing them more than once.
