Is there anything wrong with leaving UAC disabled? I am running Vistax64 and have had it turned off for months now, and have no real problems.

When I had Vista I always kept it turned off too, but only because I'm fully aware of what and what not to do, especially with emails and web browsing. If you are the same then by all means turn it off. You have to accept though that if a nasty does get on board somehow and starts its shenanigans that you won't know about it until it's too late. So it's best to have available a means of recovery more effective than system restore.

When I had Vista and still now with windows 7, I kept UAC on. I don't even notice it.

I've had UAC turned off for over a year and fortunately haven't had any major problems. I am fairly cautious though. I never open any attachments to emails unless I am 100% certain that they are authentic. I'm not quite as careful about web browsing (because, honestly, with many sites, you never really know, if they're safe), but I do have Windows Defender and Avast, which have kept me pretty safe, so far. . .
