Following its decision on 18 April to call a snap General Election, and seeking parliamentary approval to suspend fixed-term parliament laws, the government has lost its majority. The PM Theresa May will now seek approval from the Crown to form a new government based on the 'understanding' that the 10 Democratic Unionist MPs in the 'Northern Ireland' British Colony (the six counties of the north) will support her.
Seven times after Theresa May succeeded David Cameron as Tory leader and Prime Minister, after his resignation as a result of the Brexit vote in June 2016, she refused to call a General Election to obtain a decisive mandate despite her saying that Gordon Brown should have called an election in 2007 after Tony Blair resigned.

PM Theresa May (famous for her Leopard Skin high heels) insisted she needed a 'decisive majority' in order to begin Brexit negotiations with the EU. The result is a total failure for her and the Government and a massive rejection of a 'hard' Brexit.

The principle opposition of the Labour Party and its leader (reviled by the entire UK press) Jeremy Corbyn achieved the highest voting share in 20 years, and higher than in the elections that Tony Blair won in 2001 and 2005, and even higher than achieved by Gordon Brown or Ed Milliband in 2010 and 2015.

Given the almost unanimous message from the mainstream print, broadcast and online media that Jeremy Corbyn was a 'disaster' for both the Labour Party and the country, the almost total rejection of that by 14 million voters will stick in the throats of media owners such as Rupert Murdoch and Lord Dacre who went so far to harm him calling him a supporter of terrorists.
Youth - voters 18-24 - turned out in the highest numbers ever seen (72% voted) and by a massive majority voted for Corbyn. His rallies in numbers and intensity mirrored those of Bernie Sanders in the USA.

Will have to read up on how your government works. Seems confusing to me, but that often does not take much.

It's very simple. A government must has a simple majority of the 650 elected Members of Parliament. With the support of 10 members from a party called the DUP, Theresa May will have 328 votes. A very weak and easily lost majority of 2.

Interesting times but I'm not going to say what I really feel as not a political forum.

Those pics are humorous but actually real. Labour has no organisation and no allegiances in NI of any kind, as you well know.
