Ultra Slim CPU Cooler

Hello Everyone!

It seems almost impossible to find a great super thin cpu cooler out there for what I have. Let me give you a little more info...

I have this:

Enclosure with pci expansion slot

The problem lies - looking to fit a R7 240 or R7 250 graphics card into that expansion slot, but the stock amd cpu fan is way too tall in height.

Now, is it possible to get a cpu fan in there that has good to great performance but super thin (40mm or less)? Keep in mind the 95W TDP processor...

I've heard about the scythe kozuti (40mm tall), but that is really intended for AM3. Same difference between that and the FM2+? Any help would be great!

 

The case you've listed only comes with a 200-watt power supply. While this might be enough for on-board video, it appears a R7 240 card requires a minimum 400 watt PSU.

I would instead look at a slightly larger case with a separate full size (ATX) PSU:

Well technically... from what I have researched - Graphics cards that just use the power from the motherboard are only allotted a certain amount of power usage (that usage was a max of 75 watts from the pci express slot). So, the 400 watt psu claim seems to me to be a bit exaggerated. Probably for warranty purposes for the manufacturer.

On a side note - I've tried/bought the Scythe Kozuti, but it's a bit ridiculous that I would have to purchase separate ram that is low profile on top of buying the Heat Sink Fan (because of the mini-itx board configuration/HSF being too wide).

Anyone have any further suggestions?

 

Also, I am trying to keep the case/enclosure as small as possible and still be able to use a graphics card...
