Unable to delete History !!!

    Hi people,
    a newbie in here. Im having some prob with deleting my history, so hoping that someone can help me out.
    Its just that, a few days ago, i clicked on a link ( which i didnt know what it contains ). It turns out to be a User Login site. So, i clicked on cancel and shut the page.
    Now, i have a habit of cleaning the Temporary Internet Files and History, everytime i log out. But this site wont seem to go.
    When i click on the History Tool Bar, n search the site, i find the site there.
    What has happened ??? Anyone can help me out ???

    Get new friends, the newbie thing is obvious.

    here and run it, it's fairly simple to use, and pretty powerful! ;) reccomended by a friend of mine, give it a try.

    I'm a newbie too!

    Thnx for the suggestion dude !!!
    But the thing is im using xp ..n the program u gave is for NT n 2000.
    So i dont think its gonna work. Thanx anyways
    BTW , forgot to mention that ever since this thing came up, i've been having some trojans n stuffs ,everytime i scan my computer.
    Im using Norton Anti-virus by the way.
    Pls....I need help

    Please read the announcement and sticky threads. HJT logs should only be posted when requested. HJT should also be run in normal boot mode. In addition, your version of HijackThis is way out of date.

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

    Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.


    After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

    Ummmmm, need to ask, what does this mean, "Only do this step if you have the about:blank or home search hijack."
    Im a bit slow, so pls have patience wih me.

    Basically, if you had one of these hijacks your home page would have been changed (usually without your knowledge) and you would be unable to change it back to what you want it to be. If this is not the case, just skip that step in the tutorial and move on to the next one:)

    Woooohoooo !!!
    Managed to delete the history. Thanx guys for ur help. Really appreciate it.
    Ran CCleaner once, and voila !!! Everything cleared !!! :D :D :D

    Hi again guys !!!
    Got the same problem this time !!! But only thing is that this time i aint able to delete the history even with CCleaner.
    All the sites that i have accessed gets deleted when i use CCleaner , except for this particular one. Seems to be a stubborn one.
    Kindly help guys !!!:) :) :)

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

    After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:
