Unable to download updates

I hope this is posted in the right room if not please feel free to move it to the right one :confused

I am informed by my Filehippo update checker that a number of things require updating but when the update goes to install I get an ERROR message stating that I must be logged on as an administrator to download updates to the computer. So you may think whats the problem with that? Well Its only my name on the computer and according to the system I am the administrator. Time to Help a dummy again. And for those that do thanks I owe you.

You may have to log in as admin even though it is you.

 

Are you talking about MS system updates, or just those found by filehippo?

Can you update the program(s) directly from the author's site? Maybe it has something to do with filehippo, I don't use programs like that so I'm a bit unsure if this could be the case.

 

No Tried downloading from filehippo also from the different authors sites same results they all come from CNET Download.com

 

Certain applications (e.g. Adobe Reader) need to be installed/updated from an Administrator user.

If you are certain that your user has Administrator rights (check Control Panel | Users), then you should be able to run these installers.

If you don't want to login as the actual 'Administrator', you can right-click on the downloaded installer, then select 'Run as Administrator'. You may be prompted to supply the Administrator password.
