    Hi
I'm on a peer-to-peer LAN (All XP Pros, no Domain, but Workgroup).
I have a few computers mapped to each other or to a common one that serves as a (public) repository for data. Every once in a while, I get a "could reconnect to network drives" and if I try mapping again to the "lost" computer, it cannot be found.

In cmd mode BROWSTAT STATUS gave me the following (attached) namely that the Master Browser is a TOSHIBA. We used to have a TOSHIBA photocopy machine with a hard drive and OS and it had a fixed IP on the LAN (for scanning), but we haven't had that machine for more than a year now and our XP Pros (Ha Ha Ha) still consider TOSHIBA as the Browse Master.

How can I get rid of TOSHIBA and get another machine to get elected?
(I was almost at the point of REGEDIT and FIND TOSHIBA and delete instances but, at this point, I thought that I'd better ask the Community that has helped me a lot (with Malware).

    Thanks
    Ahmed
