    Hi all,
I am trying to downgrade the acer from vista to XP. Found on their website the tool that supposedly lets you do this. I ran their diskformat tool and it then reported that there was no operating system. So I tried installing XP, but it would give me the Blue screen when it comes to the part of starting up windows. I then took the hard drive out and installed it on another computer and installed XP, which ran fine. I then re-installed the Disk back into the Acer computer and tried starting up xp, but it always shows me the screen where it states that windows was shut down improperly and gives me the choice of Safe mode ...
It does not matter what I pick, it just brings me back to the same screen. any ideas on what might be going on?

    Thanks,
    Rob

What was in the disk tool you downloaded, were the motherboard / chipset drivers included?

In the iso file there is a bootmgr, napp.dat,napp5.wsi and then 3 directories of
    BOOT
    EFI
