unable to uninstall adaware se!

yesterday i tried to uninstall adaware se personal after hearing that lavasoft stopped updating it and focusing on 2007. well when i went to the control panel and tried to uninstall it, i got a message saying missing install log file. so i cant uninstall it.

i went to the lavasoft faq and found an entry about this and i did all it said and it is still there. i tried getting the install of it and doing the repair/modify thing. that only created a second adaware on the uninstall list and start program list. i tried to uninstall the first one but still got the install log file missing but i was able to uninstall the second one.

anyone know how i can get rid of this? will uninstalling the second one leaving the remaining folders and such in the c drive, and just delete the lavasoft folder from it and any other things pertaining to lavasoft. will that allow me to remove everything even in the uninstall list and such?

will deleting the folder of lavasoft really remove the program and such fully? i always thought to remove a program completely the uninstall program had to be ran. so all i need to do is go to the program folder and just manually delete the lavasoft folder and that will remove the software huh.

 

i did a registry scan earlier and i believe that is what removed the install log.

 

was just wondering if i just manually delete the lavasoft folder all together myself would that be the same as uninstalling it? im just worried that if i do that something could happen. im in the mind set that the uninstall program has to run to fully uninstall something. but is it ok to manually delete the folder do the same thing?
