Unable to update

Hello,
I noticed yesterday that I could not use the update feature for Avira (free version) and Malwarebytes (free version). Both have worked until yesterday. I can still update spybot and registry mechanic.

I ran all the above prorams yesterday using the week old versions of Avira and Malwarebytes with only a few items found by spybot and registry mechanics (which I fixed). Lastly I uninstalled Avira and reinstalled so I would have the most current version and reran again no problems noted, but update still in not functional.

The error messages during Avira update boils down to:

[UPDLIB] [ERROR] Download manager: The function WinINet::InternetOpenUrl() 'http://perspeak.avira-update.com/update/idx/master.idx' failed. Error: The server name or address could not be resolved
[UPDLIB] [ERROR] Download manager: An error occurred inside the WinINet library.
[UPDLIB] [ERROR] No other server available.
[UPD] [ERROR] Generation of update structure failed. UpdateLib delivers error 8.
