I actually have quite a few issues. They all seem to be related though. I have Windows XP SP3

1)For some reason I am unable to download files from the internet. I click on a file to download and nothing happens.

2)I also cannot get different windows to pop up. For example, if I want to find out the information of a picture on the internet, I right-click and select properties, nothing shows up. That yellow bar at the top of the screen doesn't appear(the one that says *such n such* blocked this file...would you like to download, etc....)

    3) In yahoo mail when I try to add an attachment, the "browse" button does not even appear.

    4) when I try to upload files to sites like Deviantart, facebook the window which allows me to select the file to upload does not appear.

    5) IE7 takes literally 3 minutes to load and Firefox cannot establish a connection to the network.

    Hi

I would be tempted to run the below guide and then start a new thread in the Malware Forum, but before that do you have a 3rd party firewall applciation if so disable it to test if you can download.

Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First.
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

Once finished please start a new thread in the Malware Forum plus a guide on how to attach the logs HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post
