Unable to use video in messengers

Hi everybody there!

I have been having problems with receiving and inviting video on messengers for last 2-3 months. I am staying away from family and using messengers to be in touch with them. Without videos in the messengers, the messengers appear dull and less useful.

My operating system is xp spII. I am having following active messengers in my system: Yahoo messenger with voice (Beta), Rediffbol, googletalk (beta) and skype (version2.5). I had a zonealarm free firewall which I uninstalled about 2-3 months back when I started having this particular problem. So currently I am using only xps inbuilt firewall (No 2 firewalls). I am running only one antivirus (AVG updated & working finely).

Sometimes I can test my webcam on messengers without a problem but sometimes it shows error and message "camera not connected" although it is well connected. Nothing wrong with my webcam surely. I have uninstalled and installed it three times to confirm.

I usually signout from other messengers before connecting my webcam to a sinngle messenger to avoid any clash between messengers for the webcam but the problem still persists.

When I invite on yahoo or skype, there appears a message "you appear to be behind a firewall". Since I have already deleted zonealarm because of this message and currently using only windows firewall, I am unable to understand from where this firewall problem is arising. Is there any setting in the messengers or control panel which can settle this problem? I have checked my system for viruses and spywares, and it appears to be free from both.

Can u suggest any solution to my problem?

May my problem get anyone's attention plz? Daily logging in to find some reply but getting disappointed.
