All of a sudden, two websites (both universities) that I always visited I cannot get. I get this page cannot be displayed message on Internet Explorer 6. I can get to them on Netscape. Also I do online grading for an educational company and I use Java. When I try to grade on Internet Explorer, it will not load, but it will on Netscape. Any help in simple language would be great. Thanks in advance.

Thanks but more help please DV8 Cowboy

I don't mean to sound so dumb, but I am. How do I install EE6sp1 again. It came with the machine. Thanks, Sandifer

QUOTE=DV8Cowboy]Sandifer, I had an issue a while back with ONE site (only instance). Pulled me hair out trying to get the latest Java etc..(big fight, big hassle)

The answer and what I reccommend is to install IE6sp1 over again. It will work for you (even without any more info on the error message)! :)

Download SP1 and reinstall, you might do an Ad Aware and Virus scan first. Many of the new worms and viruses overwrite the hosts file to prevent anti virus programs from updating. Your university site might have been affected that way.

Reintalling Sp1 straight out would only work if they don't have Windows XP...

    Downloading IEsp1

I really appreciate the help; I'm not that bright with computers. How do I download and reinstall IEsp1. My Internet Explorer came with the computer. Thanks for help.

What happen if I just remove the doubleclick url from that list?
    Will that unblock it too?

Yes, if that's where it's being blocked. I've run Spybot's immunization, and one other domain blocker, and on my XP/IE6 setup, that folder is empty. But check there first.

    Hello
I am having the same problem...I looked in the internet options menu and found where the sites were blocked...but the list was empty, therefore I could not unblock anything. I am also having trouble accessing my college's secure site, and community.webshots.com, most notably. These seem to be the only two sites that don't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi All

    Iam new to this forum,

regarding to the below mentioned thread and problem,

Kindly Check if the Site you are trying to view is a secure site
If yes and you are still using Win XP SP1 or SP1A

Then Try registering these .DLL files in command prompt
    Click on Start
    Click on Run
    Type CMD

At the command promt, type the following lines and press ENTER after each line

Click OK when you receive the message that DllRegisterServer in FileName succeeded

    regsvr32 softpub.dll
    regsvr32 wintrust.dll
    regsvr32 initpki.dll
    regsvr32 dssenh.dll
    regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
    regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
    regsvr32 sccbase.dll
    regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
    regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

Type exit to quit Command Prompt.

    That should do the Trick

In case you have removed the URL from the Blocked List in IE then also check from the Blocked URL's in you antivirus or Security Software
    :)
