I have a file that will not delete. The filename is "LegoBatmanDemoSetup." I do believe something fishy is going on. It is a 0 byte application. When I try to delete it I get the message "Open And In Use In Another Program." I tried to copy it and place it in the recycle bin, same message. I cannot change the name of the file.

I did recently clean out a Virus, which may or may not be related to that file. I don't think there is a demo for that program anyway. I scanned the file with Antivir, and it comes up clean. I am perplexed.

Before I visit the Malware forum, I wanted to see if anyone had some ideas on how to delete the file.

    Thanks for any help.

Boot in to safe mode by hooding F8 on start up then try deleting the file.

It may be a trojan too. Like autorun.exe, sometimes, whenever you delete this, it will go, but again if you restart you will find the same one appearing in multiple places.

Thanks for the replies guys. I tried the Safemode approach already, I should have mentioned that. Ultimately, I had to finagle. I had to wait for the error message to appear, tab to the "more info" button, position my cursor to approximately where the "cancel" button was after I pressed the "more info" button. I had to position the cursor just right, as I would hit "more info" the "cancel" window would appear for a split second. It took me about 5 or so tries. Then I had to hit "cancel" about a dozen times before it finally disappeared. High Tech, huh? I can't remember the exact name of the tabs I was closing, but I think everyone can get the basic concept of what I did.

As for what the file was, I have no idea. It seems the second window I canceled was some sort of download window. I don't think it was a virus. Somehow I think it was truncated download that still wanted to run.

plodr, that seems like quite a useful program you linked me too. I solved my problem before I came back here. I will I am sure provide to be quite useful. Thanks for the tip!

    Another enigma solved! Thanks fellas!
