This thread is about this program: http://www.liutilities.com/products/campaigns/adv/rb/majorgeeks/txt/

It is advertised here on MajorGeeks.

Is allowing this product to be advertised here, an endorsement of it ?

I would like to know if anyone has it, that could explain it. It seems a bit too good to be true, a magic speed up your computer button, but it apparently has a lot of awards from cnet and such, and is apparently endorsed by majorgeeks.

    Anyone have any info ?

    Hi,
I have downloaded it,but its not good unless you pay for it. It doesn't actually help you delete or cleanup anything, it just shows you want needs to be deleted and what junk you don't need on your computer. If you actually want to clean your computer, then you must buy it.

    Regards,
    Shadowone

    Try Revo Uninstaller.

Choose the option on the bottom of the list (#4). Be very careful while deleting the bolded registry items ONLY!! This software will create a system restore point for you as well prior to uninstalling a software program.

There is no such thing as a magic button, what it does is stop some of the startup entries and shuts down some of the system applications.
It does nothing that will hurt your PC but it also does nothing that you can not do for yourself with a little research.

A quick tip for anyone wondering if a particular piece of software might be suitable for them:
In the MG software pages there's a Search box at the top and usually also in the left pane = 'Google custom search'; type the name of the program you want to check, in this instance 'registry booster', and hit Enter - the resulting page(s) give the links to the versions available to download and the rest of the entries will be from comments and questions from the MG Support forums.

As a (very) rough guide, the more entries there are, the better or worse the program is; either a lot of people bumping it as good or many are having trouble with it. Checking a few of those threads - the most recent ones will be most relevant usually, should give you a very good idea of whether the software is what you're looking for.

If you're still unsure, create a new thread with a relevant title or stick to the 'Top Freeware Picks' in the right pane ;)

Well we don't. ;) We are sensible, so steer clear of junkware like this.
