uninstall-install problems

hiya, Newbie here. I'll get right to it. I tried to uninstall msn messenger 7.5 . it said I needed a patch. So, I tried to reinstall it. you guessed it. I needed a patch for that as well. There's a newer version of msn messenger which I don't want. I think I found the patch, and didn't know how to attach, put it in, or whatever it is you do. Illiterate that I am. I can't even find the patch anymore. I tried your sites for "cleaning messenger". They didn't work. I've made a mess of everything, and am lowered to using the 4.7 version, and yes, I tried upgrading from that. It didn't work. I'm not even sure what to ask here, lol. Hopefully one of you geniuses<<suck up, lol will be able to sort through this, and come up with a solution. Til then, Canada says take care.

 

Download Your Uninstaller! 2006 from MajorGeeks and try to uninstall it normally and if that doesnt work then find the feature that says Force Uninstall, should work.

Hi, I think you didn't see the "illiterate" part of my question. I don't know how to download it--i did try to right click--and I have no idea where to find the force one. Did you want me to install the "uninstaller"--in red--at the address you put at the bottom? my name here should be callmeconfused. Thanks for this reply, all the same.

 

Yea click the link I gave you and choose a site download, then download it and install it. Once you install it choose PRO mode. Then click to the program you want to uninstall and go to Action> Force Uninstall.

 

HI again, I tried all the free downloads, and found nothing like what you described. I know I'm doing something wrong, I just don't know what. I think coffee is in order, lol. Can you describe where to look for the patch package, and then possibly--remember the illiterate here--describe how to apply it? I really appreciate the work you're doing.

 

I never seen a patch for MSn Messenger 7.5, thats really weird. Can you describe the exact error it tells you when you try to uninstall it?

 

this patch package could not be opened. Verify the patch package exists and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer patch package. I've also gotten a 1635 error when trying to download the 8.1 . I'm going to try and find the "patch" and let you know where I found it. Meanwhile, if you have anymore ideas, I welcome them. Thanks much.

 

Hi All In regards to the unistall-install program, I finally found a solution. I downloaded a utility cleaner, and got rid of the old messenger. I was then able to download the new version. Thanks for the suggestions, and thanks again for the birthday wishes

lol, I think I told you I was illiterate?? Well, I think I've proved it once and for all.
