I am trying to clean up my computer and was using Malware Read and Run list. I am a the part to uninstall all of the Java downloads and then install the newest version. I downloaded and saved the new version, uninstalled all of the old versions, and now when I go to install the newest version, I get a message that says "Windows cannot open this file". And then it says that Windows has to know what program created it and I can go online or find the program manually. I need to know what to do next.

    Thanks!

    Hi

Its possible that the download of java you have has been corrupted, if your downloading on the PC that is the one malware infected, try downloading on another PC the full Java runtime, or skip that install and continue with the guides steps, once you have the logs then please attach them as mentioned, so that our malware experts can review them and if needed they will issue you more manual instructions to remove whatever pest you have.
