uninstalling clamav

I tried to uninstall clamav but i get yuri@yuri-desktop:~$ dpkg -r clamav
dpkg: requested operation requires superuser privilege I have ubuntu os can someone help with uninstallation of clamav and rootkit please, how do i proceede:cry?

 

as i havn't used ubuntu fully (it won't install on my system), i guess you have to do the same as me - roughly,

you will have to be root - i have to login to root to add or remove software,

i believe its sudo in ubuntu, there is some info here

Sudo su

- for Others , respectively.

Then Get Bit Defender for Unices It's the best in the world.

 

sorry but a slight side track

sudo su - its not for all others, it does not work if sudo is not enabled,
sudo is not enabled by default in mandriva - i guess its the same for some others

sudo apt-get remove clamav

sudo apt-get remove rootkit

sudo apt-get update

 

Respectively* being the operative word.
