uninstalling McAfee

Hi,

Warning: I'm a very non-technical person.

I bought a Sony laptop (running Vista) for Christmas, which came with a 60-day trial version of McAfee, which I initiated.

It has now expired, and I would like to uninstall it and then install something else: Avira Anti Vir and SuperAntiSpyware seem to be recommended by this site.

Could someone please step me through what I need to do.

Is it as simple as taking the 'uninstall McAfee' option and then run the files for the two new products?

I am, for example, very hazy about creating a restore point and all that, also if McAfee is resistant to properly uninstalling itself and whether I need to do anything to check it's all gone.

Thanks ... will very much appreciate the help as my wife is giving me the hurry up to get the laptop working again!

Uninstall it and then reboot. After reboot run the below program

Restore points are created when you boot up. If you want to learn more about System Restore, you can post in the Software Forum and you can read things like below.
