unknown cpu type

I have recently installed an athlonxp 3200 into my asus a7n8x deluxe (rev 1.04), flashed the bios with the asus 1008 bios file. everything works fine except the bios cannot identify the processor, it simply says unknown cpu type, speed - 2200Mhz (at least that's correct). It said the same before i flashed the bios, after fitting the cpu and using the 1004 asus bios, which is why i flashed it.

Seems to be benchmarking at what i would expect, has anyone else had problems with this bios, and got any suggestions.

My system is as follows
asus a7n8x deluxe rev 1.04
1024 of two unmatched cl 2.5 ram (running in single ddr mode)
radeon 9800 pro 128mb
two 80 gig maxtor ide's
400w psu
windows xp home sp2 installed

 

I have had several issues with ASUS BIOS's. I would send them an email notifying them. They take a few days to respond but generally are good about fixing issues like this.

odds are, you have no problem and Asus is just being stupid about the bug (as are many other mobo companies about any bug).
