Unknown Files ?

I have 2 items under Documents - incomplete, don't know what they are and how they got there and is it safe for me to delete these files ? They are both 1KB and named- downloads.dat > 24feb > DAT File > 1kb. 2nd one is- downloads.bak > 21feb > BAK File > 1KB. Would like to know how to procede ? Thanks, Roseman07 in Oz :cool

Any chance you have Limewire installed? They might be related to that.

I don't have Limewire installed, any other suggestions what those files could be ? Thanks mate, Roseman07

Do you have any download managers as they may produce temp download.dat or .bak files while a download is still active until finished, backup measure incase you suspend the downlaod to resume at later date.

Do you have any other p2p filesharing applications installed?

I know Frostwire and Limewire both use that incomplete file. Maybe you had either one of those at one time.

Only p2p is MSN Messenger, not sure if you clase Windows Live as p2p but have that aswell.. :cool
