I don't know exactly what my issue is,just that it's very bothersome.I am experiencing freezes,my computer speed has decreased SIGNIFICANTLY,when I'm on the internet my page will automatically be backspaced every few minutes,as if I pushed the backspace button. On a couple occasions it seems like my computer goes into fast forward mode and I'm not in control, where it seems like my settings are being tampered with.

I ran my scanners when it was just the computer speed but they didn't catch anything,so I just went on my way using the computer like always.

It wasn't until the more serious things started happening recently that I started the process of doing the read and run, which I have done and have all the logs for.In the thread it says PM them to someone I assume that person being the person that signs on to help me.

No it doesn't, and it would not be possible anyway to PM attachments. HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post

    Have you logs from running:
    • SUPERantispyware
    • MalwareBytes
    • Combofix
    • MGTools
    • Rootrepeal (Unless on 64 bit)
If so please attach them and also run the below please and attach logs from those too.

I want you to run TDSSKiller so refer to the below for how to do so.

    TDSSkiller - How to run

Please also download MBRCheck to your desktop
    • Double click MBRCheck.exe to run (vista and Win 7 right click and select Run as Administrator)
    • It will show a Black screen with some information that will contain either the below line if no problem is found:
      • Done! Press ENTER to exit...
    • Or you will see more information like below if a problem is found:
      • Found non-standard or infected MBR.
      • Enter 'Y' and hit ENTER for more options, or 'N' to exit:
    • Either way, just choose to exit the program at this point since we want to see only the scan results to begin with.
    • MBRCheck will create a log named similar to MBRCheck_07.16.10_00.32.33.txt which is random based on date and time.

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 12 <--- Uninstall outdated Java.

Now we need to use ComboFix by sUBs

    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box. Ensure you scroll down to select ALL the lines:
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    File::
    C:\Users\June-Bubba\AppData\Local\ggcmql3b2hgy1dfu6pwr7o767x8j
    C:\ProgramData\ggcmql3b2hgy1dfu6pwr7o767x8j

    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif

    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below

    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

If after running Combofix you discover none of your programs will open up, and you recieve the following error: "Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion". Then the answer is to REBOOT the machine, and all will be corrected.

Reboot your machine and install the most current and up to date version of Java available here at the below link:

    Java Runtime 6

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista or Windows7) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

Let me know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now!

Oh good god.I forgot to turn off my security, and I think my security interrupted it.Is it possible I can run it again?I'm so sorry.I got so focused on getting the instructions right for when I had to close all my browsers that I forgot to close my security.:-o

    Download OTL to your desktop.

    • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
    • Vista and Windows 7 users Right-click OTL and choose Run as Administrator)
    • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
    • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
    • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.

When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.

Attach both of these logs into your next reply.

    You're most welcome!

What more serious things exactly? Can you elaborate on this?

Did you knowingly install: Akamai NetSession Interface Service?

We need to run an OTL Fix

    • Right-click OTL.exe And select " Run as administrator " to run it. If Windows UAC prompts you, please allow it.
    • Copy and Paste the following code into the textbox. Do not include the word Code
    Code:
    Code:
    :otl
    @Alternate Data Stream - 135 bytes -> C:\ProgramData\TEMP:80AC2AE7
    @Alternate Data Stream - 135 bytes -> C:\ProgramData\TEMP:38849DE5
    @Alternate Data Stream - 134 bytes -> C:\ProgramData\TEMP:E6D38BF2

    :files
    C:\Users\June-Bubba\AppData\Local\ggcmql3b2hgy1dfu6pwr7o767x8j
    C:\ProgramData\ggcmql3b2hgy1dfu6pwr7o767x8j

    :commands
    [EMPTYTEMP]
    [RESETHOSTS]
    [REBOOT]
    • Then click the Run Fix button at the top.
    • OTL may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • The report should appear in Notepad after the reboot. ATTACH that report in your next reply.

Please click Start, All Program, Accessories and you will see ( among other things ) a Command Prompt entry.
    • Right click the Command Prompt entry and select Run As Administrator.
      • It is critical that you run it this way.
    • If you do this properly, a command prompt window will open with a title of Administrator Command Prompt.
    • Enter the below commands at the command prompt each followed by the enter key. The bold black are commands. The purple/brown is merely informational.
cd \MGtools <-- this changes to the MGtools folder and the prompt should change to C:\MGtools>
GetRunKey<-- this will try to run all one scan from MGtools. Tell me what error messages, if any, you see.
ShowNew<-- this will try to run all one scan from MGtools. Tell me what error messages, if any, you see.

    Attach the C:\MGlogs.zip.

Something stopped OTL from working, and it closed half way in..It was a "this program has become unresponsive" type deals.
Should I re-run it?I can't rightly say that I recall installing it.Says I installed it on the second of last month..You think it might be the problem?
Well, more serious being that on an occasion or two my mouse would go ABSOLUTELY NUTS.I couldn't move it,but it would move quite rapidly, push start sometimes there would be some right clicking..I don't know if any of my settings or anything were changed..At this point though random right clicking and stuff happens quite regularly.

Akamai NetSession Interface Service <--- Yes, let's try uninstalling this (it is not malicious software but I just want to see if there is any change to the behaviour of your computer after uninstall.)

Then re run the OTL instructions and continue on.

Okay,I tried running OTL again...I got the same issue "OTL has stopped working close program" this time, though there was a txt that came up,it's not what I was used to seeing for a log..all it says is
    "Files\Folders moved on Reboot...

    Registry entries deleted on Reboot..."
Is this what I was supposed to be expecting or did it work correctly?I uninstalled Akami.

    Download and run OTM.

Download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.

    Code:
    :Files
    C:\Users\June-Bubba\AppData\Local\ggcmql3b2hgy1dfu6pwr7o767x8j
    C:\ProgramData\ggcmql3b2hgy1dfu6pwr7o767x8j

    :Commands
    [emptytemp]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2782/4174320048_f01c448b32_o.png button.
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar), and paste it in your next reply.

NOTE: If you are unable to copy/paste from this window (as will be the case if the machine was rebooted), open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and copy/paste the contents of that document back here in your next post.

ShowNew<-- this will try to run all one scan from MGtools. Tell me what error messages, if any, you see.

    Attach the C:\MGlogs.zip.

Tell me how things are running. Any change at all?

Oh also,I installed Avast! earlier and did a scan with it..It found a trojan and some other thing I forget exactly what was.I uninstalled it to run a scan you told me to run..Would it be wise to just have Avast quarantine them?

  19. Kestrel13!

Kestrel13! Super Malware Fighter - Major Dilemma Staff Member

You did not attach the logs that I asked for. Yes, you can go ahead and do things on your own if you wish, let avast deal with whatever threat it finds and see if it helps any. I personally am thinking this is not a malware problem though. .

  20. jinnb

    jinnb Private E-2

I did not attach them because it stopped working mid process, just as OTL did.If it's not a malware problem what is it?:| I'll reinstall Avast and have a go at the things it found then.

  21. Kestrel13!

Kestrel13! Super Malware Fighter - Major Dilemma Staff Member

I'm sorry, so it did. Yes, try avast please and let me know what it quarantines and if it helps your situation. It could be a hardware problem with your mouse or keyboard, and that is not my paticular area of expertise.

  22. jinnb

    jinnb Private E-2

So I ran Avast and had it delete/remove/quarantine things and I've not had one issue in the past hour and a half.:-D It found
    C:\Users\Mitchell\Appdata\local\microsoft\windows\Temporary Internet Files\low\Content.IES\LG3KS9RV\rqmuumqqqv[1].htm

    C:\Users\Mitchell\Desktop\Directx_9c_redist_downloader.exe

I don't know if removing these things could even help my computer, but so far I've yet to have my mouse or keyboard fail or have my browser return to last page or the terrible lag I did have.If I have any problems I'll be sure to post them.

Well I am glad things are as they should be again.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required (If we renamed it please rename it back to Combofix.exe.
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

MY cursor randomly moves around,it left/right clicks, scrolls up and down and just stops working entirely. My keyboard pushes backspace and sends me to the last page I was on,or stops working entirely too.My computer also slows down considerably.I know you've said this sounded more like a hardware issue, but my computer worked perfectly for a while after I removed it.Avast! never said that the virus was ever really gone though, just temporarily fixed. The scanner says the upgrade[1-3].cab files are some sort of adware win32:eek:nestep-BE?

Borrow or acquire another keyboard and test whether the same behaviour occurs.
After you removed what? You mean after avast quarantined some malware? :confused
    • Uninstall avast please, run Ccleaner > reboot and reinstall it.
    • Run a full system scan with it as you have before, and show me what it is detecting.

Yes,everything worked great when I quarantined the malware, although that may have just been a quiescence.
Okay,I did that and the scan came out clean. We didn't have an extra keyboard,so I used a mouse instead. It works fine with this other mouse.Although,my keyboard hasn't misbehaved either.I'll keep you posted.
