Unknown software exception

    Hi, I need help. I recently tryed to open a media file and got 'unknown media exception" error. now this happens every time I try to open it. It freezes windows for 10seconds and the desktop goes blank (but the video file starts and so does the movie). Any help would be great.:cry

    could be a video driver. or maybe you dont have the correct codecs installed. has this just happened recently? or have you had problems with video files in the past?

    Just recently. The video still opens and I still can watch the movie but as I said the desktop and widows freezes for a while.
