I have a computer running Windows XP SP2 and just this morning the owner notified me of a problem with the system. She says that she would keep getting these popups for Antivirus 2008, which i have had problems with before and have fixed before. Although now, whatever is on this computer is not letting it startup past the login screen. Once you enter the password for any user the computer will restart itself, even in SAFE MODE! Im completely stumped! :confused Also if i could get the computer to even start up I would get the files you need... so if anyone has any suggestions please help!!

I just got a blue screen on startup stating

"The problem seems to be caused by the following file: Beep.SYS

I dont know if this helps any?

If you have the xp cd, you can try either of these:

system restore

Reg corrupt

Thanks Reg corrupt worked and got the "System Antivirus 2008" off of the computer and everything is back to normal. Thanks for the advice! :cool

I would still like to see the logs from doing the Read and Run First instructions.
