Unknown Virus

    I apologise if I have posted this in the wrong forum.
    As it pertained to viruses I thought I had better post it here, for your information. You may wish to check it.
    Is there anyone else (Other forum/site, for example) I should inform if this is a virus and not just a scam ?

    I received this email this morning (attached a print copy of). I was advised by FedEx that the message was fraudulent.
    When I opened the email, and moved mouse pointer across the attachment, I got the message (bubble) the attachment 'contains an unknown virus', which I have not been able to replicate. AVG does not detect it.
    It contained the zip file which is also attached

    I have not opened the zip file.

    You do not appear to need any help removing malware as you did not click it and open it, correct?

    We are not here to analyse malware in that sense, although I did used to run a virtual machine to look at these things in more detail.

    So with that said, what assistance do you require from me?

    That is correct. I do not need any assistance from you in this instance, although some guidance as to who to inform about this 'unknown virus' may been beneficial to others.

    I did suggest that I posted this in the wrong place; I didn't know there was a more appropriate place. Please move this topic to a more appropriate place, or delete it if that is you think best.
