Unlock Usb Pen

1. Open a cmd prompt window. To do this type cmd in the search/run box, select run as administrator and press enter.
2. In the command window type in diskpart and press enter.
3. When DISKPART shows in the Window, type in list disk and press enter.
4. Look at all the disks listed and when you see it, type in Select Disk enter its number here.
example: if disk 2 is your USB stick/pen, you'd type in Select Disk 2.
5. Type in attribute disk clear readonly and press enter.

Another method would be to edit the registry.
1. Type in regedit in the search/run box.
2. Keep expanding until you get to this key
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies
If you don't have the key, you have to create it.
Right click and select New "key"
Type in StorageDevicePolicies
3. After the key is created, you have to create a new string value. Right click in the right window and select New "string value".
The value will be zero.

Then I'm afraid the drive is gone in terms of being able to do anything with the files.

Your last chance to at least gain use of the stick is to format it. Note: you will lose all your files when you do this.

Triple check that you are formatting the correct drive letter before you attempt to format.
