Running XPsp2. All .net or hotmail type messages have been read and deleted but the logon screen still indicates one message unread. Restarts do not remove the unread notification. Saw a post about this quite some time ago but cant find it thru the search here. Does someone know how to reconcile this? Thanks.

RESOLVED! By modifying message count in the registry under HKCU/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion and selecting the particular email account for value change to 0. Easy. Found the fix in Dell Support Windows XP community forum.

Thanks for the tip. I think I ran CCleaner prior to the registry fix but to no avail. It's been a rare issue, and usually logging off and on would reset the unread report.
