my wireless connection often will be connected and disonnected simulataneously non-stop, like flashing on and off, i use cable internet and i have a linksys 54g wireless router for it, do you think it's the router? the service provider? or my computer software drivers problems etc ? thanks in advance

    Please answer the following questions?

    1. What is the model of the Wireless card in your laptop?
    2. What is the model and version of your Wireless Router?
    3. Do you know what Channel the router is using?
    4. Do you have any 2.4GHz Cordless Phones?

Please reply back with answers to the four questions above.

    1. Intel PRO/Wireless 2200bg
    2. linksys WRT54G V8
    3. channel 6 2.437ghz
    4. no phones in this house

on a side note, it seemed like after i enabled me 1394 net adapter network connection it became a lot more stable, as i had it disabled before

Try as a start doing the following. (Note: This will reset the router back to factory defaults)

    Full Version:

    1. Using a Paper Clip press and hold the "Reset" button on the back of the Wireless Router.
    2. Keep holding it for 30 seconds
    3. After the 30 seconds while holding the "reset" button unplug the power cord to the router.
    4. Keep holding the reset button for 30 seconds while it has no power.
    5. Plug back in the power to the router while still holding the "reset" button
    6. Now finally hold for the last 30 seconds while

Summary Version: Hold Reset the whole time

    1. Reset - 30 seconds - Power On
    2. Reset - 30 seconds - Power Off
    3. Reset - 30 seconds - Power On

Let me know how things work after you do one of the two options.

That doesn't make any sense to me; however, to someone else it might. Glad to know it's up and running without issues.

    Have a Great Day :)

crap its back, i got a new router too, its a wireless-n router, dammit!
i think it could be my wireless network card on my laptop, what do you guys think, the signal speed keeps varying, and its turning off and on again sometimes.....should i install the software and drivers for the router?

Yes, I would reinstall the Wireless card drivers at this point in time. Make sure you uninstall your current drivers before reinstalling the new ones.

    Post back with results.
