How can I stop someone from sending me multiple FB invites? I have been getting them from the same person since Dec., and it just never stops. I have told this person that I don't do FB. I don't want to do FB.
I kinda have enough on my plate as it is, and you know, today I got more. :mad

I have run out of options, and even blocked the e-mail, AND the domain... Not working.. The "invites" are coming from FB, from the same person. Any ideas? I am running out of options, but yet my inbox is filling up. Yeah, the same person all the time.. :***
    :banghead

I may add, I am not a friend, just know him from another website. This person just can't take "NO" for an answer...
To me, this is all a bunch of :spam Is there any way to stop them, without having to change my addy?

Report them to FB as a spam account, or as harassment maybe...

Deleting doesn't work? Do you know them?

Honestly, I believe it's Facebook spam, TeeCee. I get invites from people who are not even members of FB. It may be that the person sent you the first one, and in the process provided FB with your addy.

If your email provider has an option to 'filter' your email, add a filter to throw anything with 'Facebook' in the title or body into trash or spam.

Precisely why I posted this. I have reported it to FB, and their answer, was to "click the link in the e-mail" That isn't going to happen. I do know this person, and this person has asked me in the past to join his FB, and I said no. I am not even a friend of this person. I have filters in place, blocks, and they are still getting thru. Will see what else I can do, and I have been reporting them since Dec... I'll do some more adjustments to my mail.. Also, this person is a member of FB.

No, Darlene, deleting doesn't work at all, For every one I delete, 3 more come in, from the same person. If they were coming from different people, I would say, 'yeah, probably FB', but the 'person' named, is the same one all the time.. Makes me wonder just how sick he is. I'll do some more filtering, thanks, all!;)

This doesn't work? or You can't block them from your email?
I've used both and were affective.

That is not an option on these FB invites, or the FB photos, they show the name of the person, but include "click here"links.

I just set up more filters, so will see what happens. Obviously, reporting it to FB hasn't done any good, because here it is the end of Feb, and I am still getting them.. Grrrrrrr.

That only works if you are a member of Facebook and get invitations on your page, not if you are not and get the invites in your actual email.

Best thing to do is block all email from anything to do with FB. If that doesn't work, then I'm pretty much at a loss. I hope it doesn't mean the person doing the inviting is that scary a person!

Well I also get suggestions to add so and so as a friend, then when you look it turns out to be a friend of a friend of a friend, lol. There are all kinds of invitations all the time. Some are ok others are offensive (to me) I pick and choose. Hell I've probably offended people also :-o

What scary a-- person? Did I miss something?

What I mean is, since it's always the same person sending the invites, if it actually is them every single time after being told repeatedly for months that she is not interested, that's kinda creepy, isn't it?

*I could very well be sensitive! My ex-fiance (now best friend) just had to threaten a "friend" with calling the police for harassment last week after she started stalking him/us to the tune of 100+ text messages and 50+ phone calls per day.

You have to block them in Facebook, I don't really use it but I know you can. My son showed me how lol

Goto their page (click on their name, this helps if you have had a message from them) and at the bottom is "Report/Block this person"

    Worked for me :)

Not really to up to date on FB, only use it for my family. But can't you accept and then "Unfriend them"? I think it works that way, not sure.:wave:wave:wave

Come to Facebook keep in touch with your friends, learn about all the crap they do during the day that you just don't care about, tell them about all the crap you do during the day that they just don't care about.

New version with inbuilt virtual farm management so as your exchanging crap with each other you can spread crap on your fields.

    :-D

Me thinks, his mail client is compromised! Could be spamming without his intention :(
But if on deleting you get more - phew!! TC I'm sure your sys is squeaky clean
but this is strange! There is some communication happening between the PC's! Cheers!!

Hi sikvik, My Computer is clean, and the invites and "check out my photos" requests have all come from FB... I have contacted FB, and they just tell me to "click the link in the e-mail..." I know better than to do that. ;)

First off, if 'his' computer is compromised, he better get it cleaned... ;) :-D I think he needs to learn the meaning of "NO" myself! He asked me himself to be a FB buddy, I said no.. Then, I started to get the invites, and "Check out my pictures" etc. ... Like, I don't have enough to do.. rolleyes Even FB told me, they were all generated by him. So, that tells me, someone needs to learn the meaning of NOOOOOO:major

Tell him his behavior fits the definition of stalking. Then tell him that since you've told him to leave you alone, it also fits the legal definition of harassment. And if he still won't listen, then have some big and strong and scary looking guys with official badges tell him the same thing. ;)

  30. Sgt. Tibbs

I resemble that remark. :-o LOL My excuse is that I'm basically out of work other than a few hockey games here and there, and there are a LOT of hours in the day. I already read 4-6 books a week, but I don't sleep much. :-D

However, I don't understand the folks who choose to b**ch and moan about the games on Facebook rather than simply blocking the application. It's not rocket science...every single post comes equipped with a "hide" button. ;)

Agreed, Mimsy...he is stalking and harassing. Both of which can have legal ramifications if you so choose. Wouldn't it be neat if there was an ignore button for real life?

  31. TeeCee

    TeeCee MajorGeek

Absolutely, Mimsy, and if he still doesn't get it, I think we can get in some practice with that nice new sword ya have!;) I can get handcuffs, and rope, to keep him nice and still for ya!;)

Thanks! I'm not very practiced with a rapier, and my wrist is not quite strong enough yet to control it 100%. I will need a stationary target for practice for a while yet, I think. :-D

If you really, really, want to hit back at him, just sign him up for some of those highly questionable mailing lists that will get him in legal trouble, especially if he is sending these stalker Facebook invites from his work email... :innocent

It does carry the risk that you're the one escalating the situation and provoking him, so on very unhinged people it's not a good thing to do. It also gives them an argument and case against you if they're smart and crafty enough to see that side of things, so always, always, retaliate with caution and good judgment.

  39. TeeCee

    TeeCee MajorGeek

Some very wise advice Mimsy: "always, always retaliate with caution and good judgment". I wouldn't have it any other way. Sometimes, we run into people that just can't comprehend the word "NO". :confused

If this 'person in question' had listened to the answer of "NO" the first time, we wouldn't be discussing this. One must always be cautious, first and foremost. ;)

    Hi all

Think this thread is done now, turning out to be a linch mob. Think the parties involved now have this in the open, so hoping this will be the end of it on this forum?

    Cheers folks.
