I am using Windows XP SP1.
For some time I have noticed a small white rectangle in the upper corner of my wallpaper, no matter what wallpaper I am displaying. To-day after poking around it, I found that I could enlarge it whereby I found that it is a Google Search webpage. When I enlarge it, it opens as wallpaper (behind my desktop icons) It is a complete window except there is no X to close it with. How can I get rid of this thing?

When I check its properties it says:
    Google Search
    cache:http//www.cbc.ca/..........etc

    Hyper Text Protocol
    Shockwave Flash Object
    Not encrypted

Created 23/7/2005 (!!! It's been there for months!)

Right Click on your desktop, click properties, click the Desktop Tab, click Customize Desktop, click the Web Tab. Now, uncheck everything in this tab.

    Click
Start > settings > control panel
    double click the display icon
    click desktop tab
click the customize button on the bottom
    click on the web tab
Now uncheck any boxes that are checked in the web pages box

Someone may have a shorter way to get there.

Thank you both. That was easy and my lesson for the day. :)
