Unwanted welcome screen and user Icon

I recently installed a prgram for working with pictures. I believe it is Broaderbund Keepsake Photo. It is legitimate but I had a few things changed. It could just be a coincidence that it happened after I installed this.

1. When screen saver comes on and I went to use the computer again, the welcome screen was on and I had to click my user icon and it went right back to desktop. I fixed that by right clicking desktop, screen saver, unchecked welcome screen.

2. The problem I have not figured out is that normally on boot up it would go right to desktop after the normal screens. Now it goes to the welcome screen and I have to click my user icon to get to desktop (the same screen i was getting in 1. but fixed). How do I get it to go to desktop on bootup instead of welcome screen and click icon. There is only one user on this puter.

well one way is to go to run and type: control userpasswords2 and uncheck need username and password to use this computer.

it may not be the answer you were looking for, but its what I could find.

 

I had the same thing happen all of a sudden after I installed .net framework 1.1 to be able to run the ATI catalyst control panel. I hated the control panel and the fact that I now had to go thru the welcome screen. I uninstalled both and am now back where I want to be. Did you recently install .net framework? That could be the problem.
