UP-loads Blocked?

Good grief - what may have I gone and done now to block anything from being uploaded??

 

Thanks - sorry. Trying to upload a photo, out of My Pictures folder (such as I did here, for my avatar) to another type of website, using XP and Firefox.

After I load the photo/file, and click on "Upload", it just spins and spins, as if it is doing the job - but then eventually (every time, over the course of two days) I get a message to the effect: 'The connection/page was reset while trying to load ...'

that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Ok, no, it's apparently not the website.

I have attempted to simply email myself a 1.8 meg JPEG image (photo) ... an attached file (which is well within the "4MB" limit of the website I was originally trying to upload to), and I get the same thing from/to my email account; loading...loading...loading - spinning...spinning...spinning - although with my email server, it doesn't seem to "Time-out" like it did with the other website - it just keeps going...and going...and going...........................(about 15 minutes now, on a different tab, at the time of this post).

So, I'm no expert (not by a llllooooonnnngggg-shot), but it seems the problem is with this PC, and not being able to load File Attachments (uh, and the "administrator" not knowin' what the heck he's doin') - no?

Thanks plodr, and yes, I do tend to get myself "out on a limb", and then ... go even further (I'm afraid my "nine-lives" may be running thin though).

I got the thing to finally upload. To be frank, my brain is so overloaded at the moment, I don't believe I could articulate what it was that I did to "fix" the problem. Something to do with changing the scope of the Files & Printer Sharing program in the FW BACK to "any computer" from the over-tweaked setting (that you mentioned) of "subnet only". And now, I've changed it back (or just cleared the check-boxes on all the ports) ... of course, so the next time I want to use that feature, in the future, I'll probably be back here crying again ... :confused rolleyes :-o :cry
