Upd81

    I am getting all the steps done in the readme file, and I am currently on the bitdefender online scan. Counter spy detected a program called upd81.bpx try to run about 5 seconds into the bitdefender scan.

    Does anyone know anything about this upd81.bpx?confused

    I ran adspy and hijackthis is telling me that all the files I've downloaded (since I reformatted and reinstalled xp) have the same md5 signature.

    Help!:yum

    It is part of Bitdefender and you need to allow it.

    Please do not download programs to your Desktop! This is a bad practice which clutters up your Desktop and also makes it easy for malware to hide there. Also it will slow your PC down, slow down scans and make logs longer and more difficult to read. You should download to a more permanent and appropriately named folder.

    You also need to install the HijackThis version we requetsed in the READ ME and you must install it to the correct location as we requested. You are running the current version you have (V2) from the Desktop which is exactly where we specify not to install it.

    Also you must follow the directions for using GetRunKey. You did not extract the files from the ZIP file to run it as requested. You ran ShowNew properly but not GetRunKey.

    You must attach the other requested logs!
    • CounterSpy
    • BitDefender
    • Panda ActiveScan
    • a new log from a properly installed GetRunKey
