I received a message that 7 of my drivers are out of date including the driver for my sandisk mini cruzer. How do I go about this. I am a very senior and everywhere I look for advice I receive the same messages with the only resolution is to purchase driver update software. There are so many of them out there and very costly being on a fixed income which I heard on the news I might not receive from SS because of the shutdown. Can I do this not being an expert or better yet do I need to update my drivers? My computere unexpectedly shutdown without me being able to eject the USB flash drive now my computer does not recognize the drive. I had many important files on the drive. Don't know what to do or where to begin. Please advise.

Could you please post the make and model of computer and which version of Windows including service pack you're using?

You said your computer unexpectedly shut down with the flash drive still connected. Was anything else affected? Does the computer still operate normally otherwise?

SanDisk micro cruzer's drivers are automatically installed by Windows. Did you try connectng the flash drive to a different USB port?

    What program told you this?

I have between 2 and 3 dozen USB sticks and the only time I ever had to do a thing with a driver was when I ran Windows 98.

I am using windows 7 on a hp desktop. I don't notice any other problem. I did not try to open it in another drive but will. No it is not recognized in another USB port.

I repeat: What program told you this?

Windows 7 does not tell you your drivers are out of date. I currently am running three computers with Win 7 at our home.

I am having a terrible time with comodo. I have another thread about how to remove it on the forum. The comodo people are of no help except that I may have gotten the program when downloading another program. No one knows how to remove it from my computer

Which Comodo Program? Firewall, Antivirus, Internet Security, Ice Dragon (browser)? If a message about your drivers came up in the lower right while running Comodo, it's just, really, an advertisement to get you to purchase one of their products.

As far as drivers go, only get them from the HP Support site and THEN only if needed. When it comes to drivers, the best policy is "If it ain't broke, don't 'fix' it". Manufacturers go through a lot to make sure their computers work properly "out of the box".

You said the flash drive wasn't recognized when connected to a different USB port. I'm afraid connecting it to a different computer may result in the same outcome. It seems whatever caused your computer to shut down unexpectedly may have corrupted the flash drive. I don't know if you'll be able to recover the files from it.
