Update for About:Buster is not making any sense!!

I'm trying to run about buster which isn't exactly the problem...but what I can't figure out, is that when I do the update to check for a new version (before I scan ofcourse)...it says that I have Version 19 and it is checking for a new version, then it tells me there is a new version #26 available, so I tell it to update to the new version, and then it tells me the update was successful and i'm now updated to version 19!! Uh excuse me, but....I started with 19!! So then I run the scan thinking that maybr i've just been sitting in front of the computer too long and i'm going crosseyed, right.....WRONG AGAIN!!! Even in the scan log, it refers to it being version 19!!

What am I missing here??

First, I have to ask why are you running AB? It should only be ran if you have the about:blank and HS hijacker. If you are having a hijack problem please attach a current HJT log so we can nail it.

Never had this happen using AB. Lets try a fresh download.

About:Buster 4.0

Now, download the attached ref file, copy it to the same directory and see what happens.

 

I don't mean to be rude AT ALL, but....I am working on a friends computer and there is About Blank on there, and I do know how to attack this nast world of spyware...including using HJT....I was just having a hard time with About Buster getting it to update correctly, and was curious if anyone else had these same problems and how they remedied them!!

I have tried to re-download 3 or 4 times and it is always the same case, but...I will try it again along with your attatchment and see what happens!! I appreciate you taking the time to respond...and please...like I said I am not trying to be rude, so don't read into my response the wrong way!!!!!

HJT will not fix this hijacker, it only helps. There are several steps in removing this baddie.

We can take them one at a time but we can remove it. If you like you can attach a current HJT log from the infected machine.

 

Just wanted to tell you thank you that .dll file that you attatched did the trick!!!!
