MRI results came back negative, as far as pinching nerves or collapsing vertebra, which is good news. There IS cancer at the spot that's hurting; evidently that's causing the pain just being there; sensitive area. Doc's only suggestion is to stick with the pain killers. Already doing as well as I can with rest and diet. (shrug) Speedy (or any) recovery would be strictly due to prayer. Doctors doesn't have a cure for me.

What painkillers they got you on at the moment, Gary? Good news on the MRI not being verterbrae collapsing, but frustrating that the cancer is causing this pain nevertheless.

    More prayers going up :)

Up until now, I've been getting through the days, especially work days, mostly with Advil, which leaves my head clear, but have oxycodone for tough times, or to let me sleep at night when the pain is too bad to ignore with just Advil. One oxycodone helps some but makes me really tired. Two of them kill the pain, but knock me out. Supposedly you get used to them and they quit making you tired and punchy; I guess I'll have to try to get used to them. They're also an addictive narcotic, which doesn't thrill me, but I guess I've hit that point where over-the-counter stuff isn't enough.

I think you are wise to hold back on them when ever you possibly can. I had to do them for a while too some years back. Not only do you get used to the side effects, your body gets use to the dosage, and you need to take more to get the same pain relief. It didn't thrill me either, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, so don't beat yourself up too much if you feel a need to take them a little more :)

Yeah, I'm aware of the tolerance factor. Another reason I've been holding off as long as possible.

Glad the M.R.I. came back normal. Not so good about the growths and pain. Well, I know from direct experience that prayer can be very powerful. Otherwise I wouldn't be alive to be telling you about it, myself. At least you're a fighter, Gary, like myself. I respect that. :)

Update on Jacky: she sent a dictated message to my former co-workers saying that sha has now had her "halo" removed and a neck brace fitted. She can sit up unaided for 55 seconds (can't quite hit the 1 minute mark yet) and she has lifted her left leg up 2 inches now! They are hoping to allow visits in th next couple of weeks are moving her to an hospital nearer home in the forseeable future.

Meanwhile, Ali has gone back to work today after her father's death, but is really struggling.

Thanks once again for all the prayer and please keep them going up for these very 2 dear friends of mine. They are kinda those one-in-a-million special type of friends to me. Thank you :)

The prayers will be pouring in from everyone here and I hope her recovery gets better, then we can celebrate with a bottle of Hennessey ;)

Jacky wil be ok with all the necessary R&R snd the physical therapy she will come throu with flying colors and surprise everyone. We (yes you and me) believe in the allmighty one and he knows what to do for us. Doctors practice what God teaches ,and what better teacher could you have. If I can believe than you know for sure Jacky will be popping in again to see you.
I aint no good at offering prayers but it is the thought that helps.

Thank you all once again for your support and ongoing prayers. One day I plan to be able to tell Jacky about you all and how awesome you all have been throughout her recovery.

@obnoxious - Jacky is my friend and former boss and lives in the UK. She's not likely to be "popping in" to see me, but I do believe God is bringing her recovery around as a victory, and that I will see her again when I visit England in December. She is a most amazing, remarkable lady. Thank you for your kind words :)
