I finally accessed the mobo documentation. Plugged in the front panel on/off switch and the whole system sprang to life!
I now have two HDDs, two optical drives, and a FDD. The FDD won't work. I believe it's because I have a total of 5 IDE/ISDE devices.
Are floppies obsolete? I have CD-RW drives in all systems on my home LAN. If CDs are a perfectly good substitute for 3.5 floppies then I'm laboring under the "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" syndrome.
    Comments?

If the floppy Drive's light stay's on all the time, the cable is on wrong, red wire on cable = Pin 1 on the drive. ( there is only two ways to connect the cable, wright or wrong, 50/50 chance ya it right the first time "LOL")

Floppy drives still have a use, I use mine to load SATA HDD drivers and a few programs, mem tester & hdd utilities, stuff like that.

PS, ya can teach an old dog new tricks, just need a Big Stick!
