Updates for skype etc thru File.org

I keep getting notices that such and such program needs updated. But the updates aren't directly from Skype or other programs, but thru a site called File.org. What is this and is it legitimate site or a fake site with viruses?

rid of for me! So do yourself a favor and don't use this site!"

I suggest you install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware if you don't have it and run it. And, avoid file.org.

 

thanks. Another question. I keep getting messages from windows to update stuff right from the screen. I don't think it is really windows but the Microsoft name is on it. Can't I fix it so windows automatically updates security info by itself. I think these are fake and I don't download them.
I also get notices that my computer is infected and I should run a program to detect and repair it. I already have windows security suite and run a weekly quick scan. Is this another fake or virus laden thing too?

If you have issues, make a note of the same- and continue on to the next step of instructions.
Once you have the requested logs, please attach the same, in a new thread started in MalwareRemoval.
Mention any Issues, you may have faced running the scanners /obtaining logs.
