Updating Drivers

I'm nervous about updating drivers because of a problem in the past.

Microsoft updates is saying I need five driver updates:

    1. AMYUNI Technologies -- Printing
    2. Microsoft -- other hardware
    3. RAID drive
    4. Realtek sound card update
    5. Viewsonic monitor

Is it safe to update without unstalling the old versions first? I'm thinking it is because it's an update and not a change to a different driver. It's when you switch to a completely different driver that you have to unstall a previous driver before you install a new one? Is this correct?

Thanks for any advice you have time to share.

Yes it's safe, generally when you un-install a driver it's because it's misbehaving and your planning on reinstalling the same driver. But for the updates it's best to keep the old drivers just in case something goes wrong you can roll back the driver.

Thanks Charlicon. I'll feel much better when I update. Hope you have a great day.
