Updating Drivers

Hi Folks,
I ran a program that Major Geeks made to check on program updates and driver updates. I cannot find it again to save my life. I run Windows 7 Ultimate on an older Dell desktop. Runs very nice. Smooth, fast, no glitches. The thing I ran said I had 12 out of 20 drivers out of date. If everything seems to be running super and my programs are all up to date do I really need to update drivers? That process freaks me out from past experience. I just use my computer for very basic stuff. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

go to Mainboard tab to give your model , all type of these programmes isn't good because there is a lot of faulty drivers in it :wave

 

As a general rule, providing your system is not displaying any problems, driver updates are unnecessary. In fact I would go as far as to say undesirable. There are many scams on the internet offering to scan your drivers, telling you this that and the other needs updating, and luring the unwary into their trap.

I'm not saying the MG program you used is such, I'm just saying you don't need it.

Yeah, I should also have added that if you do ever need a new driver then be sure to get it from the Support section of your computer manufacturer's website and from nowhere else - and that includes Microsoft Update.
