updating java

    I saw that you recommend to uninstall your current version of java and then install the new version.

    I was wondering if you are recommending against using the automatic update from java?

    Actually it states to uninstall old versions and install the current version.

    No unless you are a user complaining about slow startup or a slow PC (i.e., inadequate memory). The problem simply is that Sun does not uninstall all old versions automatically.
