For your CPU fan have a look in the BIOS (DEL or F2 at startup).

    Welcome to MajorGeeks.

For video card, it depends on what your motherboard supports, ie AGP, PCI etc.

If you are unsure, use EVEREST.

You can attach the log here if you like. (don't copy and paste it, attach only)

Yes......The a520n has an 8x/4x AGP slot. Go with an AGP graphics card. Don't waste your time or money getting a PCI card. Enter your bios like Prophets21 said. From there, disable the "monitoring" feature for the fans. But be aware in doing so, if your fan ever fails, you will not be warned of it's failure. So I don't suggest you do that. It will speed up if it needs to, if things get too hot. If you're really persistant about making the fan run full on (like I am) you will need two of the 3 pin fan plugs, and an adapter to plug the fan into one of the 4 pin molex connectors. But you'll want to remove the sensor wire (usually yellow or blue) from the fan plug. A paperclip can release the latch so you can pull the wire with it's terminal still attached out. Then, use your second fan plug (salvaged from your old fan), and remove all the terminals from it. NOTING which hole the yellow was in. Put the yellow only from the new fan into that hole. Now plug THAT connector into the original mobo jack. Hope I didn't lose ya. LOL But basicly, you want your black and red hard wired to the molex to power the fan, and just the yellow(or blue) wire plugged into the mobo fan jack. Fan will run full high, but still be "sensed". So you'll get a warning if it stops completely ever.

It should tell you, unless it's been disabled, press "*whatever to enter setup" at the bottom of the screen as it's booting.

The most popular keys are delete, F1, F11, or Esc.

You need to repeatedly tap the key as it's booting.

If you don't get to the Bios, it means it's either the wrong key, or you weren't fast enough or pressed it enough times.

Then it's not adjustable, at least via the Bios.
